A day at the Farm

On Saturday We went to the superstition's Farm, they had a day on the farm type of thing. While we were there three Calves were born, and we were able to see two of those births. It was pretty neat and sad too. One of the caws had two Calves and one was a still born. It was sad to see that. Arianna was fascinated with the whole thing. I mean with seeing the little Calves trying to walk, and the mom cleaning them, etc. It was neat. As you can see in the pictures, Rachel is a little camera shy, and she wants to do her own thing, so is hard to take pictures of her. We do what we can.

The party was so crazy and the kids so hiped up that we decided to open the presents at home. We unloaded everything from the car, gave the girls a bath, and told Arianna we were going to open the presents her friends had brought her. She was so exited she started saying: "Feliz Navidad a todos, llego Santa Claus con los regalos". "Merry Christmas Santa Claus has come with presents!". We told her it is not because of Christmas she had the presents but because her friends brought some presents to express their love for her. She just kept singing Christmas songs, so we just let her be happy. Here is a little interview with Arianna before opening her presents. Thank you all for your love and appreciation for her, the calls, the cards, the presents, the love expressed in so many ways. It was all worth it just to see Arianna smiling.

Arianna's B-day and Party

3 years ago, our beautiful daughter, Arianna was born. She has been a blessing in our lives. We were so exited to celebrate this B-day with her and she was even more exited. When she saw the room for her B-day party with the castle, she was singing: "I love my Mom, I love my Dad, I love my sister, and I love my castle!” She sang this over and over as she jumped around the room. Rachel was after her, as exited as if it were her B-day too. So of course Rob and I were so happy so see Arianna and Rachel happy. Here are some pics:

Nuestra Reunión Familiar/ Our Family Reunion Sept, 2008

We had the most wonderful time in St George, UT. My parents opened their mission call, they are going serve in the Bogotá, Colombia Temple. This was a very especial experience for us. We love our parents and will miss them dearly, but, we know they will bless so many lives with their service, just like they have bless our lives and the lives of those around them. We had the opportunity to go to Zions park on two different hikes part of the family did the Narrows and the other did Emerald Pools, Rob and our little family was part of that hike. We all had a blast. We also had a talent show,in which each family prepared something special to share. We played games and hung out at the pool. Arianna's First Jobs

The other day at the store Arianna started asking for things she wanted. So I told her if she wanted those things she would have to work and save some money to buy them. She specifically wanted the Barbie video of the Island Princess, so I grabbed this empty jar, opened a whole, big enough to fit coins, and explained to her that I was going to give her some little jobs, besides the responsibilities of cleaning up her room, and that she could make some money and save to buy the movie. She was exited about the idea. The abuelitos were still here then, so I told Arianna she could polish abuelito's shoes, help me some windows and other things. She told her abuelito, she wanted to polish his shoes, and she took the job very seriously. She did not only polish his shoes, but her dad's shoes as well, and cleaned some flip flops with a rag, of course I showed her how to do it first. Then she asked abuelita Chelis for her shoes. She started collecting coins little by little. Every day during the past two and a half weeks she did something. She earned about nine dollars, between all the little jobs she did. She helped cleaned the chairs in the backyard, some of the toys she has outside in the backyard too, etc. This was a great experience for her, were we were able to start teaching her the value of work, tithing, and responsibility. Not that she has it down, she is only three (Oct 4th), but, she is beginning to learn. The funny thing was when we explained about tithing and we told her she was going to give part to Heavenly Father, by giving it to the bishop. She said: "No, this is my money, I'm not giving it to the bishop!" We explained that everything we have comes from our Heavenly Father and He only asks us to give a little back to Him, to show our faith, gratitude and love. She accepted to do that, not very convinced about giving the 10% to the bishop, but it is a good start. Last Friday Arianna was able to buy her video. She was so exited when we exanched the coins for dollar bills, and she gave the money to the cashier, all proud of herself. This was fun to see. Rachel also earned some money, just by helping her sister with her jobs. Of course, Rachel wanted to do all her older sister was doing. I love my girls.

Los abuelitos Armadito y Chelis Visit

My parents spent three weeks with us and it was a blast. We loved being able to share with them, and the girls love it to. They got so attached to them that it was hard to see them go. They left last Friday for Pennsylvania to visit my older brother, while they wait for their mission call. They are also going to visit my sister Karen in California in September. It is so especial to have the blessing of grandparents. We call my parents abuelitos and Rob parents Grandpa and Grandma, so the girls can identify with them better. Here are some pictures of our especial time with them.

Rachel's Pirouette

Like I had written before. Rachel has become an acrobat. Today, before this video was recorded, I had to put her back in her crib three times for her nap. Then I decided to record her. She is 16 months old now, and comes out of her portable crib, where she takes naps, like no bodies business. She is so full of energy. Way to go Rachel!

The love of two sisters

Arianna and Rachel love each other very much. They like to play, laugh, cry, fight, laugh again, hug each other and share their bedroom. It is so beautiful to see how close Arianna and Rachel have grown.

Arianna's Funny Comments and Rachel's crazy moods

• We were on our way from Utah to Arizona and were coming close to Kanab. Arianna was asking if we were in Takeanap already. When we got there, we were eating at Wendy's and she said: "Mami,Papi we are eating in Takeanap", she would try to said fast so it would sound like Kanab. We thought it was very funny.
  
• Yesterday I curled my hair, and when she saw me she said:"Mom, your hair is all wrinkly" (jajaja) "Tu pelo está todo arrugado".
• So for FHE (Family Home Evening) Rob was teaching about taking care of our spirituality and comparing that to taking care of a plant. He told Arianna that plants needed sun, water, and then to imply food he asked her: "what else do plants need? What do we put in our bellies?" Arianna said: "babies".(Plop)
• Rachel on the other hand, does not talk very much, but has a very funny personality. She loves to climb things. today Arianna moved the high chair to the living room and I went away for less than a minute, when I came back Rachel had climbed to the high chair and was standing on the tray. I about passed out when I saw her. But, I have to say I was not very surprised. After I put her for a nap, I was reading and I heard a knock on the bedroom where she was supposedly sleeping, she had climbed out of her portable crib, and was knocking on the door, waiting for me to open it. I don't know how. Well, I kind of know, she is and incredibly flexible little girl. I wonder who she got the climbing skills from?

VISIT TO UTAH

I am not as good at writing in English as in Spanish, but from now on I will write on this blog in English since it is a common language among family and friends.
Moving on to the subject of our trip to Utah. We had lots of fun. It was nice to be able to go with my Dad to his radiation treatment for prostate cancer. My Mom, Dad and I went to the hospital for his second session of radiations. It was nice to be with him and feel his faith and strength. After the treatment he was very positive and the doctors say he is going to be OK. Arianna and Rachel had the chance to share lots of time with cousins on both sides of the family. I was happy so see them play and draw closer to each other. Other things we did with family included going to the pool, floating down the Provo river, playing at seven peaks with Robs siblings and hike the Y. We also participated in the Freedom Run in Provo. This was so much fun. Rob, some of his siblings, my sister in law Mayi and her son Danny all ran the 10k. Rob's Dad did the 5K, and Emily and Nickie did the 1 mile walk. Rob's Mom cheered us all on from a wheelchair since she was not able to participate due to an accident she had a month ago. We loved doing this with our family and maybe this will become a family tradition. Here are some pics of our trip to Utah.
